Meet the Team
John Collins FCA Partner
John qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG in 2009 and joined Collins Hart in 2010. He became partner in 2013 when the firm changed name to Collins. He is married to Elle and has a young son called Hudson. Besides family life, interests include endurance events having completed UK Ironman in 2016 and London marathon twice. In addition to surfing, going away in the campervan and supporting Birmingham City. John covers a wide variety of industries and leads all new start-ups for sole traders, partnerships and limited companies. He heads up the journey into the digital era and cloud accounting assisting with transition through Making Tax Digital (MTD). Other areas of expertise include VAT, CIS, income tax and auto enrollment.
Nigel Collins FCA Partner
Having qualified as a Chartered Accountant in the early 1980’s, Nigel has been a partner in professional practices’ for over 30 years. A great deal has changed over that time, but the core role of assisting businesses in financial, taxation and commercial matters remains as relevant today as ever. Away from the office, family, including 2 grandchildren are the main focus, together with following and participating in sport.
Tim Richards ATA
Tax Manager
Tim has specialised in tax for over 35 years having originally trained with KPMG and has worked for large, medium and small practices. Tim is a qualified IFA Tax Adviser and is also a member of the Personal Finance Society and Chartered Insurance Institute (Cert PFS). In his spare time Tim enjoys walking, travelling, watching F1 and socialising.
Garry Harborne FCA
Manager
Qualified in the Midlands with a medium sized accountancy practice. He has a long history in general practice Garry has now worked with Nigel Collins for longer than he chooses to remember. Experienced in a wide variety of accounts related activities. Enjoys watching sport and the outdoors generally.
Eugene McKenna
Manager
Eugene joined Collins over a decade ago after gaining extensive experience of accounting, audit and taxation matters. Eugene’s extra-curricular interests include football – Aston Villa and travelling.
Andrew Ward
Manager
Andrew joined from Simpson & Co in 2015 and has been in the accounting profession for over 40years. Outside of work, interests include Aston Villa and the pub!
Helen Griffin
Manager
Helen qualified as a chartered accountant in 2010 in practice and moved to industry in 2014 for 7years before returning to practice at Collins in 2021.
Helen lives locally in Castle Bromwich with her husband Mark and two young boys Walter and George.
She enjoys keeping fit, mainly at home but also enjoys running and outdoor swimming. She enjoys trying new activities such as Tough Mudder and Wolf Runs.
Other interests include cooking and baking as well as camping and holidaying in Cornwall.
Natalie Bezuidenhout
Accounts Assistant
Natalie joined Collins in 2018 as an Accounts Assistant and is AAT qualified. Natalie’s support role is varied. She has been at the forefront of the Making Tax Digital transition and other digital project work which has seen her provide invaluable assistance and guidance to our clients on their digital journey. Outside of the office her two small children keep her on her toes!
Gemma Johnson

Gemma has worked for Collins for over 20 years alongside Isabel and Amy in the admin/ payroll department. Outside of work, Gemma lives in Sutton Coldfield with her husband and two sons and enjoys family holidays.
Isabel Collins
Payroll & Admin
Having worked for Collins previously over the years, Isabel became a permanent member of staff in 2015 and works alongside Amy and Gemma in the admin / payroll department. Outside of work, Isabel lives in Stratford upon Avon with her partner and daughter, and is a keen runner.
Amy Wright
Payroll & Admin
Amy has worked at Collins since 2008 and works alongside Isabel and Gemma in the admin/payroll department. Outside of work, Amy lives in Sutton Coldfield with her husband and two daughters, Darcy and Lyla. Amy enjoys family holidays and walking her Hungarian Vizsla.
Nicola Hadley
Office Administrator and Bookkeeping Assistant
Nicola started working for Collins in 2022 as an office administrator and bookkeeping assistant. Outside work, Nicola lives in Great Barr with her husband and two children, she enjoys reading and travelling.
